| If you're wondering... |
As many of our loved ones made us aware (you know
who you are!), Jeremy and I took a long time to set up our registry.
But with good reason--we've lived together for almost three years now,
so we have most of the necessities for day to day living. Sure, it's a
great chance to upgrade some items and choose things we may not buy for
ourselves, but truth be told, there aren't that many things we really
need. So we got a little creative.
We registered at
Bloomingdales, so you can go there for a traditional registry. But we
also registered at myregistry.com, which lets you choose items from any
vendor, anywhere online. The best part is that you can also register
for bigger items, like, say, a down payment on a house (!) So we've got
all the bases covered-- some china and crystal, upgrades on the basics,
a few decorative accessories, and a way to contribute to the bigger
picture of our life together-- the purchase of our future home.
Now,
we aren't planning a move in the immediate future. But we've been
talking about it, and we think that after the wedding frenzy dies down
we'll want to think about settling down somewhere that we can call our
own. Not to mention we'll need somewhere to put all our wonderful
gifts! So while it may be a year or two away, when the time comes to
buy our own home, we will be so grateful to those who helped make that
dream a reality.
This all being said, the only gift that
really matters is the presence of all of you, our family, friends and
loved ones, at our wedding. You are what will make our day truly
special, and that's what we're really looking forward to. We can't wait
to share the day with you!!
