Jeremy is wonderful at lots of things, but keeping a secret from me isn't usually one of them. So when we planned a trip to Hawaii last November, I had a feeling this might be it. We arrived at the hotel and as he put a few things into the room safe, I leaned over him and looked in, jokingly asking if my ring was in there. With a super solemn look on his face he told me he didn't want to risk taking it on the plane. He said the ring was in a safe back in New York and that, while our engagement day would be special, it wouldn't be on this trip.

I was pretty bummed, to be honest, but I didn't doubt him for a second. This is the guy who couldn't help but tell me what he got for me every Christmas, Valentines day or birthday the entire time we'd been together! Since it's impossible to not be happy in Hawaii,  I soon forgot all about being upset about the ring and enjoyed our time in paradise.

The second to last day there, we headed down to the beach to watch the sunset with some champagne. We sat there talking and taking pictures while the sun slowly set, and I couldn't help but wonder why Jer was acting so strange. He seemed nervous, something he never is.

I finished taking a picture of the sunset just as Jeremy turned to me. He took my hand and told me how much he loved me. Then he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and presented me with the most beautiful ring I could've imagined. Through some tears I, of course, said yes.

I was so shocked that he kept it a surprise!! We took some more pictures (the ones posted here were taken right afterwards!) and went to dinner, where--by total coincidence-- my fish entree arrived in the shape of a heart. Definitely fate.
